Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC)

The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) was established in 1966 to promote Indian gems and jewellery export. This apex body of gem and jewellery makers and exporters has also undertaken several measures to train Indian jewellery makers as per international standards.
At present, GJEPC comprises about 6,500 members from almost all parts of the country.
The organisation has broadly classified its role under various categories some of which are as follows:
  • Trade Facilitator
As the trade facilitator, GJEPC organises several trade fairs and seminars regularly. It is also involved in promoting Indian gems and jewellery in the international markets by the means of online promotions. It maintains regular communication with Indian embassies in various parts of the world to disseminate information about Indian products.
  • Advisory Role
The organisation takes up relevant issues pertaining to the sector and raises them before the concerned authorities. It also issues certificates and other documents to its members.
  • Training and Research
GJEPC administers several institutes in different parts of the country to impart training to jewellery makers and designers.
By becoming a member of this association, gems and jewellery manufacturers can avail multiple benefits such as networking facilities and distribution ease.
