Retail Event

SIAL 2011 – The Middle Eastern Food Exhibition

SIAL 2011 – The Middle Eastern Food Exhibition is scheduled to be held from November 21-23, 2011 at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi

Following an announcement by the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) earlier this year that it will be implementing new standards and regulations to modernise grocery and food retail outlets in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, store owners and managers are getting ready to refurbish their premises and consider add-on services to attract more customers.

The new regulations will be implemented by the end of 2011 and are likely to include standards relating to security, space specifications, display racks, labelling, storage and uniforms. ADFCA is also proposing a range of new services that stores should offer to build a loyal customer base, including banking services, takeaway snack foods and home delivery.

In association with ADFCA, SIAL Middle East will build a replica of a new ‘Baqala’ grocery store and host a series of workshops and presentations for store owners and general managers to explain the new regulations and the best ways to implement them, as well as introducing them to potential suppliers of the diverse services and equipment required.
